FAQ

Questions

Quick answers on private vs commercial use.

Why the early adopter discount?

You're taking a risk on an unsigned app from a solo developer. That deserves a reward. Plus, your early feedback will help me make this better.

Will my price increase after 2026?

Nope. If you buy at $9.99/year, you keep that price forever (as long as you keep your subscription active).

What happens in 2027?

New customers pay $19.99/year. You still pay $9.99/year. Feel smug.

Why 2,000 commits?

That's roughly 6-12 months of active development. If you're working on repos larger than that, you're likely being paid to do it, and $9.99/year is less than one coffee. Hobbyists with small projects stay free forever.

This is unsigned. How do I know it's safe?

Fair question. I'm a solo dev and code signing costs $500/year — I'll add it when revenue supports it. The app only makes network calls for license validation and update checks. If you're concerned, you can monitor network activity or wait until I add code signing.

Why not just use GitKraken/Tower/Fork?

Fork is $50 one-time (great deal). Tower is $69/year. GitKraken is $83/year. LetsGit is $9.99/year (early adopter) and built specifically for massive repos. Try it—if it's not faster for your use case, get a refund.

What does personal use mean?

Personal projects and hobby development. If you're using LetsGit for a company or paid work, you'll need the Pro plan for repos over 2,000 commits.

Do I need to pay to use it for personal projects?

Only if your repo has more than 2,000 commits. Most hobby projects stay under that limit.

Do I need to know git commands?

Not at all! LetsGit handles all the git complexity behind the scenes. You just click buttons.

Can I try Pro before buying?

Yes! The app has all features unlocked. For repos over 2,000 commits, you'll see a prompt to activate a license, but you can explore everything first.

How do license keys work?

When you purchase, you'll receive a license key via email. Enter it once in the app, and it automatically validates your subscription. The key stays valid as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel, the key stops working.

What if I lose my license key?

Check your purchase confirmation email from LemonSqueezy. If you can't find it, visit your customer portal (Manage Subscription link) to view your order details, or email me at support@letsgit.app and I'll resend it.

How do I move to a new device?

Just enter your license key on the new device. Pro tier allows up to 3 device activations. If you hit the limit, email me at hello@letsgit.app to deactivate an old device—I'll add self-service device management once there's enough demand.
